Dylan's Love songs

I love to listen to music when I work on my paintings - Bob Dylan, lyric poet - and a painter himself, fills his music with imagery,he's a juggler of words: a romantic spirit  with the cranky voice of unrequieted love - no soppy sentiments !

These women arrived in my life and demanded to be seen ! ( Resemblances to anyone living or dead is purely accidental !)
I had a bit of fun creating these pieces, I'm using a simple folk art style (I've added some Dylan quotes)

Paintings will  available  in my Etsy shop

      "Like  A Rolling Stone" ( Highway 61 Revisited 1965
"If you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose"

"You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you"

Your Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go
( from Blood on the Tracks , 1974)
Purple clover, queen Anne Lace Crimson hair across your face
You could make me cry if you dont know
Cant remember what I was thinkin' of
You might be spoilin' me too much love
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go"
*
" But I'll see you in the sky above
In the tall grass and the ones I love
Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go"

You're A Big Girl Now
( from 'Blood on the Tracks' 1974 )

" Our Conversation was short and sweet
It nearly swept me off my feet
And i'm back in the rain Oh Oh
And you are on dry land
You made it there somehow
You're a big girl now "

Dont Think Twice It's all Right  ( from "The Freewheelin Bob Dylan"1963)
    "I once Loved  a woman , a child I'm told
I gave her my heart but she wanted my soul,
But dont think twice its all right "

                      " Goodbye's too good a word gal
So I'll just say fare thee well "
                                                          ==========================
One More Cup of Coffee
 ( from 'Desire' 1976)
"Your sister sees the future    Like your mama and yourself
You've never learned to read and write  There's no books upon your shelf
And your pleasure knows no limits  Your voice is like a meadowlark
But your heart is like an ocean  Mysterious and dark "

I Threw It All Away ( from 'Nashville Skyline'  1969)
"Once I had mountains in the palm of my hand
And rivers that ran through every day
I must have been been mad
I never knew what I had
Until I threw it all away

Love is all there is, it makes the world go round
Love and only love , it cant be denied
No matter what you think about it
You just wont be able to do without it
Take a tip from one who's tried

So if you find someone that gives you all of her love
Take it to your heart, dont let it stray
for one thing that's certain
You will surely be a hurtin'
If you throw it all away."

Forever Young (from Planet Waves 1973 )
"May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
May you stay forever young  "

Shelter From the Storm (Blood On the Tracks 1974)
"Twas in another Lifetime , One of toil and blood
When blackness was a virtue and the road was full of mud
I came in from the wilderness , a creature void of form
"Come in " she said " I'll give you shelter from the storm "
---   ----   --- ---- ----

Sweetheart Like you  ( Infidels 1983)

"Snap out of it baby, people are jealous of you
They smile to your face , but behind your back they hiss
Whats a sweetheart like you doin' in a dump like this ?"

Tight Connection to my Heart ( Empire Burlesque 1985)
" You're the one I've been looking for
You're the one thats got the key
But I cant figure out whether I'm too good for you
Or you re too good for me "
